The Job Corps FY 2018 Senate Dear Colleague Letter was distributed to Senate offices by our Co-Sponsors: Senators Jack Reed (D-RI) and Susan Collins (R-ME). We strongly encourage Job Corps supporters to reach out to their U.S. Senators and either make them aware of the letter (center staff) or encourage them to sign our letter (non-center staff), a copy of which can be found here.
Interested parties can sign-on to the Dear Colleague letter by notifying Senator Reed’s office (202-224-4642). The deadline for signatures on the Senate Dear Colleague letter is Friday, May 19.

The NJCA is currently in the midst of its fiscal year (FY) 18 funding request including our FY 18 House Dear Colleague letter, an effort led by Reps. Lou Barletta (R-PA), Sanford Bishop (D-GA), Tom Marino (R-PA) and Marcia Fudge (D-OH). We strongly encourage Job Corps supporters to reach out to their U.S. Representatives and either make them aware of the letter (center staff) or encourage them to sign our letter (non-center staff), a copy of which can be found here. We have also heard from the House Appropriations Committee that member requests will be particularly important this year. As a result, we are asking Job Corps advocates to share the following funding and report language request with those offices that are supportive of Job Corps – including offices that have already signed the Dear Colleague letter (send them an email saying thank you and share the member request document) – located here. The deadline for members of Congress to submit these requests to the House Appropriation Labor-HHS-Education Subcommittee is Thursday, April 6.
