National Job Corps Association Announces New Executive Director

National Job Corps Association Announces New Executive Director

The National Job Corps Association (NJCA) Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Greg C. Roberts as Executive Director, effective July 17.

Prior to joining NJCA, Mr. Roberts served in a number of distinguished positions of leadership, including President of the Muhammad Ali Center in Louisville, President of the DC Children and Youth Investment Trust Corporation, and President of the Magic Johnson Foundation in Los Angeles. More recently, Mr. Roberts has been working as a consultant with CitySpan Technologies, one of the leading workforce and education technology companies with clients that include Boston Private Industry Council, City of Chicago (One Summer Chicago) and City of Houston (Hire Houston Youth).

John Sparkman, Chairman of the NJCA Board, noted that Roberts’ appointment follows on the work of a Search Committee made up of NJCA Directors and member representatives who have been working for the past three months to identify outstanding candidates for the position. “Greg Roberts brings to this role tremendous leadership experience in the non-profit arena and a solid understanding of youth workforce programs, as well as of the successes and opportunities Job Corps continues to provide for at-risk young people,” Mr. Sparkman said. “We welcome Greg and look forward to his joining us in championing the Job Corps program through NJCA.”

NJCA, founded in 1998, is a not for profit coalition of Job Corps center operators and partners working in support of the national Job Corps program and the opportunities it provides young people to complete their education and develop marketable job skills. Job Corps was founded in 1964 and is administered by the U.S. Department of Labor.
