Star Program
The Star Program recognizes outstanding achievement by the 124 Job Corps centers across the nation in reaching out to their community. The program is primarily designed for the purpose of gathering information for outreach and education.
Policymaker Outreach
Encourages center’s to contact their Members of Congress (U.S. Representative(s), and U.S. Senators) to make them aware of center activities and keeps the NJCA informed as to whose being talked to in each congressional office.
Media Outreach
Provides us with examples of stories covered in each congressional district that makes the local community aware of Job Corps’ value and contributions. These stories are shared with policymakers and sometimes posted on our website!
Community Outreach
Provides us with examples of how Job Corps is involved with and benefits the local community. These examples allow us to share with Congressmen how Job Corps is an investment in their communities that provides great returns.
Programmatic Outreach
Provides us with information that we deem important to NJCA’s legislative agenda and specific issues that would help us secure one-time appropriations (increased energy costs, disaster-related supplemental funds).
